To support general operations at Northwest Hospital and Medical Center (NWH). NWH was founded in 1960 after a successful community effort to raise funds for a hospital outside of downtown Seattle, and thanks to that continued spirit of philanthropy has expanded into a full-service medical center, providing a critical resource for emergency, inpatient, and outpatient care to the surrounding community. Since 2010, NWH has become a key part of UW Medicine and the hospital now has 281 licensed beds, a level 1 Stroke Center as well as a satellite clinic of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance on its 44 acre campus.
